
GOSHEN MAIN STREET DESIGNATED AS A NATIONAL CERTIFIED MAIN STREET
Torrington, WY – On behalf of Main Street businesses throughout Goshen County, Goshen Economic Development began the process of becoming a National Certified Main Street three years ago. The process included the addition of events such as 3rd Thursday’s and expansion of existing events such as Holiday activities. National Main Street Certification creates national exposure, provides additional grant funding opportunities, and results in a cohesive community.

Torrington, WY --- Goshen Economic Development utilizing ¼ cent sales tax for economic development funds to rehabilitate a town water well. Fort Laramie had significant structural damage to one of their town water wells, a main source of water to Fort Laramie residents. The total project cost was $126,254, the project was matched with USDA and SLIB funds. Goshen Economic Development uses the Progress Program to reinvest sales tax funding back in the municipalities, businesses and non-profits located in Goshen County.
Goshen Economic Development – which includes Economic Development, the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street – is a non-profit organization that prioritizes the retention and expansion of local businesses. Since 1987, the organization has encouraged business growth, created jobs, and built on local community assets in five Wyoming municipalities: Fort Laramie, LaGrange, Lingle, Torrington, and Yoder.
