LODGING TAX BOARD – PROGRESS PROGRAM

October 21, 2021

Torrington, WY --- Goshen Economic Development utilizes the ¼ cent sales tax for economic development to help the Goshen County Promotion Joint Powers Board (Lodging Tax Board) fund wayfinding signs in all Goshen County communities. This grant funding went to signage in Fort Laramie, LaGrange, and Yoder. The Lodging Tax Board leveraged the Goshen Economic Development ¼ cent Progress Program Grant to also install signage in Torrington and Lingle in the past years. 2021 marks the completion of this signage project, with all municipalities benefiting. The Lodging Tax Board distributes funds into Goshen County events to promote travel and tourism to Goshen County, facilitates broad development, and marketing programs. Their goal is to enhance overnight and destination tourism. Goshen Economic Development is a proud partner of the Lodging Tax Board.

Goshen Economic Development – which includes Economic Development, the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street – is a non-profit organization that prioritizes the retention and expansion of local businesses. Since 1987, the organization has encouraged business growth, created jobs, and built on local community assets in five Wyoming municipalities: Fort Laramie, LaGrange, Lingle, Torrington, and Yoder.
