
GOSHEN MAIN STREET DESIGNATED AS A NATIONAL CERTIFIED MAIN STREET
Torrington, WY – On behalf of Main Street businesses throughout Goshen County, Goshen Economic Development began the process of becoming a National Certified Main Street three years ago. The process included the addition of events such as 3rd Thursday’s and expansion of existing events such as Holiday activities. National Main Street Certification creates national exposure, provides additional grant funding opportunities, and results in a cohesive community.
CITY OF TORRINGTON GRANT APPLICATION
Torrington, WY --- Goshen Economic Development in partnership with the City of Torrington applied to the Wyoming Business Council for a Business-Ready Community (BRC) Grant. The grant request is for the $2.5 million purchase price of the Wyoming Ethanol facility. If funded, the City of Torrington will purchase the Wyoming Ethanol facility and triple-net lease it to Panhandle CO-OP. Panhandle CO-OP will cover all associated costs and expenses while investing an additional $1.5 million into equipment and renovations for the facility. Panhandle CO-OP plans to turn the facility into a regional hub for their Ag products and services. Panhandle CO-OP headquarter in Nebraska, see’s Wyoming growing market and business-friendly environment as a great location for expansion. The project will retain Panhandle CO-OP’s Wyoming workforce and add five additional jobs initially. Profits from the lease agreement will be reinvested in Torrington for future economic development projects. The agreement will also allow Panhandle CO-OP to keep liquidity for potential future endeavors in Goshen County. The City of Torrington City Council voted unanimously in favor of the Resolution of Support for the project at their meeting on October 6, 2020.
