1/4 Cent Sales Tax for Economic Development at work for business and community
Goshen County Economic Development Corporation strives to maintain accountability and transparency of the use of the 1/4 Cent Sales Tax for Economic Development funds.
The Progress Program is funded by the 1/4 Cent Sales Tax for Economic Development. Goshen County is the only county in the state of Wyoming to have passed a ¼ cent sales tax to fund economic development projects. Voters passed the measure in 2006, started the Progress Program in 2011 and have voted five times to extend the tax. Progress Program grants include; Community Enhancement, Capital Matching, and Infrastructure Investment Fund. Since 2011, Goshen County’s Progress Program has awarded over $1.1 million in grant funding to over 180 businesses, municipalities, non-profits and community organizations.
The goals of the Progress Program are to help businesses succeed by making their properties more attractive to their customers, and to make communities more attractive to potential new businesses, employees, residents and visitors.
